Reliance Jio launches web version of JioTV app

The web version allows users to watch live TV channels on their laptops and computers. The service is exclusive to Jio subscribers and they need to log in using their phone number and password.

Reliance Jio has launched the web version of its JioTV app. The app allows Jio subscribers to watch live TV channels and past 7 days programs on their smartphones and now the web version will let them do the same on laptops and desktop computers. Spotted first by telecom the service is exclusive to Jio users and can be accessed on the website https://jiotv.com, however, the site currently shows that it's under construction even though we were able to access it earlier.


Accessing the service requires users to sign-in using their Jio SIM number and password. The web interface of JioTV is quite similar to its app where users can switch between SD and HD channels which are horizontally lined up. As per the app’s description on Google Play Store, JioTV offers more than 450 Live TV channels. The list of channels ranges across 10 genres and 15 languages.

Before JioTV, Jio made it’s JioCinema accessible on the web as well. It is available on https://www.jiocinema.com and the service boasts of providing access to more than 1 lakh hours of TV shows, music videos, movies, and trailers across many languages like Hindi, English, Marathi, Telugu, Bengali, Malayalam, Punjabi, Bhojpuri and more. JioCinema, similar to JioTV, is also exclusively available for Jio customers.Jio recently partnered with British Council to launch a free English course on its JioChat app. The LearnEnglish channel is free to use and users will get access to English language resources in multiple formats in the form of text, video and audio. Video stories from British Council’s English Club will also be available for free for JioChat users in the app’s Explore section.
