Nougat 7.0 is here, but only for Google's Nexuses and soon, it will roll out to major flagships. There are users who don't have enough patience to wait until the update becomes available on their devices can install 7.0 Nougat using a custom ROM and we advise the Xiaomi Mi 4 and Mi 3 owners to try out AOSP (unofficial) ROM. They must be very careful and follow the right steps in order to successfully install this experimental version.

Before we tell you how to install the AOSP Nougat ROM on a Xiaomi Mi 4 or Mi 3, we must warn you that this version may contain bugs in it, but it offers exclusive themes, a pretty interface and additional features that will improve user experience. However, some of these features are currently not working: video recording, Clock app FC, SystemUI FC and bugs that were present in ZeurionX are found in AOSP Nougat ROM as well.

So, if you haven't rooted your phone, do it now. Install TWRP to back up all the data, then download and install USB drivers on your PC, in order to recognize your Xiaomi Mi 4W/ Mi 4 LTE/Mi 3W phone when you will connect to it. In addition, charge the battery of your phone, or make sure it has 80 percent juice left.

Now, download AOSP (unofficial) Android Nougat ROM and Google Apps from the internet to your PC and connect your phone using a USB cable. Copy the downloaded files to your phone's SD card, then turn it off and disconnect it from the PC. Turn on your device and enter the Recovery Mode by press holding Volume up and Power buttons, then clear the phone memory by selecting "wipe data/factory reset" option. The cache memory will be cleared by choosing "wipe cache partition."

Return to ClockworkMod recovery and choose > Advanced > wipe dalvik cache. Go back to the main recovery screen and tap "install zip from SD card". Then, tap "choose zip from sdcard" and locate the Android 7.0 ROM .zip file in your SD card. Tap on it to enter the installation process and do the same with Google Apps.

Wait a few minutes until the installation process will be over, then go to +++++Go Back+++++ and reboot your phone. When the booting process will complete, go to Settings >> select About phone to confirm the installation of AOSP 7.0 Nougat ROM.
