Let Us Loop You In, Says Apple

Apple has called a press event for 21 March at its campus in Cupertino, California.

The event will likely see the unveiling of a new entry-level iPhone 5, potentially called the iPhone SE (for "special edition"). The presentation will start at 10am PST.

The new 4-inch phone is likely to have an improved camera compared to the iPhone 5s, an A8 processor, touch ID and Apple Pay.

Let us loop you in

The invitation reads "Let us loop you in", but as always Apple has given almost no hints as to what it will announce.

An updated iPad Air 3 is also likely. Rumors abound that it will be thinner than the current model and potentially come in a rose gold variant. Another product due an update is the MacBook Air, but news for what Apple might have in store are thin on the ground.

Some Apple-watchers had made early predictions that it would use its annual March press event to unveil the Apple Watch 2. An unveiling is now expected at Apple's September event to coincide with the expected launch of the iPhone 7. Apple could use the March event to unveil new straps, colours and software features.

We will, of course, have details of all the announcements made at the event.
