RDP THINBOOK 1130 :Best Value for money Laptop Under RS 14000/-

Nowadays one can find many budget segment or entry segment notebooks or tablets. These could be good options for students, or if you simply need a second computer at home for beginners or kids.

RDP was Incorporated in Jan 2012, initially started manufacturing Thin Clients & Mini PC’s until Aug 2016. RDP has recently launched its latest consumer laptop, called the ThinBook (1130) at Rs. 9,999 with the kind of specifications we’ve come to expect from this segment, but with a 11-inch display which should be good for productivity. we got this machine for a period of around 27 days.

This is like a beast is available in price of a rat. As per the service RDP is providing the cost is very good.

It comes with Atom processor. 2GB ram and 32GB internal storage. you can extend it by inserting a memory card into it.

Design and Built quality

Design is perfect for price and spec are also good. The fit and finish of the plastics is good, which makes the device sturdy. The dimensions are similar to those of an Ultrabook, with the thickest end measuring around 20mm and the entire laptop weighing roughly 1.2kg.
In terms of connectivity, you get USB 3.0, USB 2.0, Mini-HDMI, a headphones socket, a microSD card slot, and a charger socket. The palm rest area is enough and the there’s a generous trackpad too. Tracking performance is far from ideal though since the surface isn’t very smooth. This also impedes the use of multi-finger gestures. The trackpad buttons are quite stiff. It has quad-core chip runs at 1.4GHz with the ability to turbo up to 1.8GHz.

11 inch display is not too bad, and colour reproduction is also Good. What i feel that it must be a touch screen to make it a uncompetitive product in this price segment.

The stereo speakers are placed on the bottom and fire downwards. The base is completely sealed off with no air vents.  We felt that the keys had too much travel and felt too spongy for comfortable typing. There are LED status lights above the keyboard for power, caps lock and num lock, followed by two holes for microphones.
The laptop ships with a 12.5W power adapter, which is only slightly larger than the average smartphone charger and RDP even gives a cleaning cloth.

The inbuilt storage can be expanded by up to 128GB using a microSD card. The laptop also has a VGA webcam, whose quality is pretty average.RDP claims that it has around 10 hours+ battery backup, But we got around 7-9 hrs of it.

Verdict
At Rs. 9,999, the RDP ThinBook makes offers pretty good value for money. The build and finish are reasonably good; the device itself is fairly slim and light; the display is good enough.

RDP plans on launching more powerful variants of the ThinBook, and in time, hopes to bring the cost down we would like to see a better trackpad and builtin touch screen.RDP will be soon launching better models with Intel celeron and pentium processors in coming days.
