Riders can now enjoy seamless Uber experience in over 20 airports across the country and over 200 airports globally

New Delhi, December 23, 2016: Uber, the world's largest on-demand ride-sharing company, today announced its focus on improving the airport travel experience for both riders and driver partners. An improved app experience coupled with seamless on-ground experience are few additions that will help make travel reliable and comfortable like never before.

We are committed to making commute to and from airports even more reliable and comfortable. Whether you are departing or arriving at an airport, our goal is to provide a truly seamless experience. Uber is now available at all of the top 20 airports in India, and at more than 200 airports globally, with presence at almost all major US and European Airports. Visitors from over 70 countries have used Uber in India, while Indian travelers are using their Uber app most frequently in the US, followed by United Kingdom, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and Malaysia,” said Amit Jain, President, Uber, India and South Asia.

Using Uber at the airport? Here’s what you need to know

Scheduled Rides: This feature enables you to book a ride up to 30 days in advance with just a few taps on your app. This helps ensure that your Uber will be there when it’s time to head out to the airport - especially if it’s the first flight out of town.

Here’s How it Works?
Open the Uber app and tap the calendar icon in the “where to” box.
Set your pickup date and time; and enter your pickup and drop off locations
Select the ride you want to take (ie: uberGo) and see the estimated fare; Tap “schedule”
We’ll send you reminders both 24 hours and 30 minutes in advance of your pickup. You’ll be notified once your ride is on the way, as well as what the fare will be. You can cancel up to 5 minutes after your ride is on the way.

In app experience: Our new rider app has built in prompt to provide instructions for your pickup (depending on the local airport rules and requirements). This might be a pre-designated pick-up area and/or for larger airports, the app enables riders to provide specific pick up instructions -  like terminal and door number -  to their driver. This feature eliminates the additional time and energy spent in finding your ride.
On-ground experience: We also have partnerships with airports likeBangalore International Airport (BIAL) (also known as Kempegowda International Airport) and Mumbai International Airport - GVK, to provide riders with experienced staff on ground to help riders with booking a ride or navigating to our pick up zones.

How Airport Picks Ups Work?
Open the app to request your ride once you are ready to step outside, and enter your destination.
Choose your ride option from the slider, then tap “request.” If you have multiple bags or are traveling with a group, you may want to request an uberXL (if available).
Select your terminal and/or door number. The app will also give you more details on where to meet your driver (ie: arrivals, departures, pick up area, etc.)
Depending on the local airport rules and requirements, the Uber app will provide instructions for your pickup. This might be a designated ridesharing area, or to the departures level. And for larger airports, the app enables riders to provide specific pick up instructions - like terminal and door number -  to their driver. This feature helps to maximize riders’ and drivers’ time and enable a more efficient experience.
High Reliability: We are able to provide higher reliability because we are constantly working with our driver partners to improve expected time of arrivals (ETAs). Our latest driver app update includes the technology to inform drivers about their wait time before they get their next ride so he is ready when it is time to pick up the rider
Affordable rides: We are one of the most affordable option transportation option at the airports.
Multiple Vehicle Options: We not only have our most popular uberGO hatchbacks available, but also have our uberX Sedans for more boot space and premium experience. Traveling with a group and have large suitcases? No worries, try an uberXL with capacity upto 6 people and more room to fit all your luggage.
