The recent government initiatives such as Make-in-India, Digital India and Skill India are playing a key role in facilitating the growth. The industry is fast adopting these to catch the growth bandwagon. Skill India initiative is the necessary step towards skilling the bottom of pyramid, 800 million citizens. And, it is heartening to see CEAMA has taken up this issue to deliberate on this collaborative platform. I would like to commend CEAMA’s vision on their 37 years of contribution and would urge all to join hands in building a robust, skilled workforce, helping India transform into world's most powerful economy.”

Sharing his views on this occasion Mr. Manish Sharma - President of CEAMA, said “CEAMA was established in 1978 with an objective to share common interests and address the burgeoning issues of the Appliances and Consumer Electronics industry, aligned with the government policies. An industry that generates 3 indirect jobs linked to a direct one is currently, grappling with a shortage of skilled workforce. Due to a gap in demand & supply in - the availability of the engineers, technical incompetency of the beginner level engineers, lack of soft-skills , high attrition rate, and rise of new technologies the industry will witness an avoidable, opportunity loss. This can be turned into an advantage, if Small Medium Enterprises can employ progressive techniques of training in association with government initiatives. The Frost & Sullivan report highlights these and suggests the way forward direction to the industry. We are sure this will benefit the industry, thereby helping us pave towards a developed digital economy.”

Attended by over 250 attendees, interactive sessions and carefully planned networking activities were conducted to assess the market potential for new growth and finding pragmatic solutions on skilling.
