Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro Might Have All-Metal Body, Fingerprint Sensor

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro Specs To Include All-Metal Body, Fingerprint Sensor? Leaked Images Offer First Look

Premium features are no longer the monopoly of the biggest, most expensive brands. Chinese electronics company Xiaomi is making a statement with its upcoming Redmi Note 2 Pro and it looks to be one with the potential to be a good alternative to the pricier smartphones in the market.

According to a report from Mobipicker, a leak from Chinese website Mobile-Dad offered a peek at the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro. The device, which is the company's answer to high-end handsets on the shelves, will feature a sleeker and more sophisticated aesthetic than its predecessors with an all-metal body. The Redmi Note 2 Pro will also have an additional fingerprint sensor at the back, like many premium smartphones available.
No other details have been confirmed, but reports say that the upcoming smartphone will have the exact specifications as the Redmi Note 2. The only differences are the metal body and the fingerprint sensor, making the Pro model slightly upgraded from the previous one.

According to a separate report from Mobipicker, specs of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 include a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, MediaTek MT6795 Helio X10 chipset, Android 5.0 Lollipop, 3,060 mAh battery capacity, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a five-megapixel front camera. It is also equipped with 2GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage space.
There is also speculation that the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro will be released in two different variants, one with the fingerprint sensor and another that skips the feature but is offered in a lower price point.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro is expected to be released in December 2015, ahead of or alongside the Xiaomi Mi 5.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is another highly anticipated handset from the Chinese brand. According to a recent report from MNR Daily, the upcoming smartphone is slated to be the first to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, which is only about to be launched this December. Other reported features of the Mi 5 include a 5.2-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, 16-megapixel rear camera, eight-megapixel front camera, a USB Type-C port and a fingerprint scanner.
Xiaomi continues to step up its game with its upcoming smartphones, proving there is a place for quality budget devices in the market. Recently, it was revealed that the Chinese company has patented pressure-sensitive technology that is similar to Apple's renowned 3D Touch in the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, a report from G for Games said.
