Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1(6GB) Review

ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 that was launched just a few weeks ago. This device head to head with Xiaomi's popular Redmi Note 5 Pro .

Asus already have two variants of the Zenfone Max Pro M1 in the market that costs Rs. 10,999 for the 3 GB / 32 storage version and Rs. 12,990 for the 4 GB Ram

The new version is available for Rs. 14,999 and competes with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, Oppo RealMe 1, Huawei Honor 9N and several other good mid-range phones. The phone boots on the latest Android Oreo 8.1 from Google and delivers blazing fast performance. Also, there is improved ZEN UI which looks more refined than the previous iterations.

The Zenfone Max Pro M1 (6GB) has a 16 MP + 5 MP camera which offers f/2.0 aperture instead of the f/2.2 aperture on the older model. The additional f-stop allows more light into the camera and a higher MP also ensures more clarity. In our view the camera of this device is not that great as you can get in Redmi note 5 Pro or Mi A2.

Also, the phone comes with the May security patch from Google, and we can expect an update from the brand . There are features such as Zen Motion which allows you to use gestures such as double tap to wake up and draw an alphabet on display to quick launch an App.

ASUS has unveiled a newer variant of the smartphone with a better selfie camera and more capacious RAM, let's take a closer look at all the improvements which the Zenfone Pro Max M1 brings to the table.

Newer model is identical to its predecessor which was launched a while back. To put things into perspective, you'll get the same unibody metal design with the newer Zenfone Max Pro M1, which feels solid and well constructed.

The additional RAM doesn’t do much other than ensuring apps will run slightly more smoothly. What could be the dealmaker, however, is the fact that the smartphone comes with slightly higher resolution cameras.

In our view if you are looking to go with Asus Zenfone Pro M1, go with 3GB and 32GB variant as there is not a much difference in the performance. We rate this smartphone 9/10 ( 3GB/32GB and 4 GB/64GB)  and 7.9/10(6GB/64GB) as in August we have seen other devices in 14 K-17 K price segment which are more value for money devices and have better cameras.
