Porsche a new rising rival for Tesla.

As Electric cars are the future of the upcoming generation, now the automobile's companies are focusing more and more on these type of vechiles.

When we talk about the e cars then the first name that comes into our mine is of course "TESLA",founded by Elon musk.

But wait now Tesla is going to get a tough competition from "PORSCHE".

As we all now that Porsche is the big name when it comes to the sport cars industry. Some of their popular models were: Porsche 718 Boxster,Porsche 911 and many more.

Porsche is now towards its "Mission e" arising as a new rival for Tesla.

The Mission E is built at an entirely new platform, and has over 600 HP. It goes from 0–100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and 0–200 km/h in 12 seconds. The projected top speed is over 250 km/h. Porsche is aiming for the Mission E to achieve a range of over 500 km (310 mi). Porsche's chairman, Oliver Blume, told CAR Magazine in September 2017 that the Mission E will be "priced like entry-level Panamera," which begins at $85,000.

Driving a Porsche means driving at its spectacular best. The key specs of Concept Study Mission E go to show that this holds true for e-mobility too:
  • Acceleration 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) < 3.5 sec
    Acceleration 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) < 12 sec
  • Top speed > 250 km/h (155 mph)
  • Power > 440 kW (> 600 hp)
  • Range > 500 km (300 Miles)
  • System voltage 800 V
  • Charging time 80% in < 15 min

Design:

Compact electric motors, no combustion engine, no exhaust system, no transmission tunnel. Plenty of opportunities to question and rethink previous forms. With this concept car we are exploring the limits. Such as the harmonious combination of typical Porsche shapes with aerodynamics inspired by motor sports. Result: a flow-through body, totally geared towards performance.

So the future of the sports car looks highly promising. You might even say electrifying.

One of the special feature provided by Porsche is the exterior mirrors:

The virtual exterior mirrors are eye-catchers in the truest sense of the word: images from these cameras are reflected in the lower windshield corners. In this way the driver has a better view of the images as well as the surrounding area. Additionally, augmented safety information can be actively displayed here.

Well the most interesting feature is the car's charging time:

The system voltage: 800V. Uncommon. 400V would be common. But what’s common about a Porsche? With Porsche Turbo Charging, charging with 800V at DC charging stations is considerably faster than usual – 80% of the maximum charge level in less than 15 minutes. In other words: in approximately 4 minutes charging time the range increases by about 100 km (60 Miles).

Now it will be interesting to see who is going to win this battle.
