Moto G (3rd gen) Vs Moto G (4th Gen)

The Moto G3 have been our all-time favourite budget smartphone over the past few years. But now it is time to switch over. Moto has introduced the successor Moto G4 which is no less than the other higher end flagship devices. Let us take a closer look at how these two devices differ from each other.
Moto G3 is launched in July 2015, Moto G4 is launched in May 2016.

Design & Specifications
Moto G3 features 5 inches 720x1280 pixels HD screen with 294 PPI while Moto G4 features 5.5 inches 1080x1920 pixels display with 497 PPI, but still both the devices weighs same 155g . Both the models come with corning Gorilla Glass 3 with Multitouch feature.

Moto G3 and G4 supports Dual sim (Micro sim slot), and same camera specifications like 13 MP rear camera f/2.0, autofocus with flash and 5MP Front camera with auto-HDR. Both the model comes in two colour variants of Black and White.

More or less both the device features similar designs. The previous model featured a bigger rear camera which extended up to the Motorola logo. The new model gives space to the logo and camera. Further, Moto G4 looks more refined due to the new glass look.
Processor
The Moto G3 is powered by 1.4GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and it comes with 1GB of RAM while Moto G4 is powered by 1.5GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor and it comes with 2GB of RAM.

Software
Moto G3 runs Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) which is upgradable to v6.0 and is powered by a 2470mAh non-removable battery and Moto G4 runs Android 6.0.1(Marshmallow) and is powered by a 3000mAh non-removable battery will support Motorola's TurboPower technology which means with the Motorola’s charger you’ll be able to get 6 hours of power in just 15 minutes.

Storage
MotoG3 comes with two variants, one is 8GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB with 1GB RAM through microSD card and 16GB internal storage with 2GB RAM and for Moto G4 it has 16GB/32GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB through microSD card.

Resistance
Moto G3 was both water and dust resistant. The water resistance potential of the model is up to 30 minutes in 3 ft water. On the other hand, Moto G4 comes with a water repellent nano-coating, which promises to protect the handset from splashes of water. This suggests that if the phone is accidentally dropped in water, then the phone might be damaged.

Price
The official price is yet to be announced for Moto G4 which is likely to be 13000INR (Not sure, it may change), while the Moto G3 is priced at 10000INR.



Moto G4 might be a better option compared to Moto G3 in terms of memory storage and screen size. Moto G4 is just Another solid, safe and affordable handset from Motorola so it isn’t going to let you down if you give it a try.
