ZOPO speed 7 plus

About Zopo

Shenzhen ZOPO Communication Equipment Co. Ltd., headquartered in Shenzhen, China and established in 2008, is engaged in the designing, manufacturing, and marketing of mobile intelligent terminal products. Zopo has recently launched smartphones in the Indian market, which makes it another Chinese brand that has launched its products in the country.

The Zopo Speed 7 Plus is powered by 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor and it comes with 3GB of RAM. The phone packs 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Zopo Speed 7 Plus packs a 13.2-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

The Zopo Speed 7 Plus runs Android 5.1 and is powered by a 3000mAh non removable battery. It measures 153.60 x 76.50 x 8.80 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 149.00 grams.

The Zopo Speed 7 Plus is a single SIM (GSM) smartphone that accepts a Micro-SIM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM, 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope.

If you have a budget of Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 and want to buy a smartphone, you will be spoilt for choices. Currently there are more than a dozen smartphones in that very segment and the number seems to be growing with each passing month. Zopo is the newest manufacturer to join the ranks and has come to India to try it's luck in this very competitive budget segment.
The phone, which takes on the likes of the Xiaomi Mi 4i, Asus Zenfone 2 etc. is Zopo’s Speed 7. It brings best in class 3GB of RAM, but, besides that, the entire spec sheet is quite similar to its competitors. So, what can a new brand like Zopo bring to the table? We took the phone through its paces to find out.

Design and build
The Speed 7 features a very subtle yet good looking design. Rounded edges, curved back and a lighter body makes it one of the best phones in the category in terms of the grip. The slightly chamfered sides with a metal finish make it look premium than it is. Compared to other 5-inch smartphones though, the Speed 7 has broader top and bottom bezels, which result in a slightly taller body, but still not out of place. The volume rocker and the power key both are situated on the right and offer tactile feedback. And to stress on the build quality, the phone does have a plastic exterior but features an alloy frame inside.

Display and UI
The 5-inch FullHD display on the Zopo Speed 7 is one of its biggest assets. The display is bright in every light condition. In addition, the colours are punchy and the saturation is nearly perfect. The display reminded us of the IGZO panel we saw recently on the Meizu M2 Note. Although the panel comes with an undetermined protective layer, it does acquire fingerprints very easily.

The Zopo Speed 7 comes out to be a good phone and has a good design, display, consistent performance and a decent camera. Zopo speed 7 - Specification

The OS on the Zopo Speed 7 is Android 5.1 Lollipop with Z-UI on top. This is a relatively light customisation where Zopo has only tweaked the app icons and added few productivity apps like Documents to Go. This little customization offers around 11GB space out of the box and should be easy for Zopo to upgrade this device to Android Marshmallow (I hope) when it launches.
The performance is pretty good. The octa-core MediaTek processor coupled with Mali-T720 GPU offers decent experience. Absolutely no problem watching full HD videos or playing Asphalt 8: Airborne on this device.
