Micromax launches Canvas 5 with 3 GB RAM at ₹ 11,999

Micromax on Wednesday launched the Canvas 5 smartphone in India. It is successor to the Micromax Canvas 4, which was launched in 2013. Priced at Rs. 11,999, the handset will be available in Space Grey and Tan Brown colour variants.
The device is available in offline and online retail market.
The phone is powered by a Mediatek octa-core processor, 3GB RAM and 16GB of ROM. The phone also has a microSD card slot which support up to 64GB of storage. In addition, the phone also supports USB OTG.
It has a 5.2-inch Full HD display with 484 pixel per inch and it also has a curved 2.5D glass.
Design wise, the phone has a metal frame and a faux leather back.The company claims it is one of the slimmest phones in the market and feels slimmer than even a pencil.The Canvas 5 is backed by a non-removable 2900mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 10 hours of talk-time, and up to 275 hours of standby time. 
The phone has a 13-megapixel camera on the back with phase detection auto-focus system and a 5-element lens system. Micromax claims that it locks focus faster than any phone in its price band. It locks focus in 0.2 seconds. On the front, the phone has a 5-megapixel camera, which is accompanied with a flash.
The company is also touting a 7-day doorstep service policy, and Airtel Double Data offer.
 The company has tied up with Bajaj Finance to run a 12-month equated monthly instalment scheme. Also, a 7-day door-step service will be available for customers.
